City at Peace plot
Make your own drama for the stage, 'based on a true story'! Under this heading, some sixty young people from very different cultural and social backgrounds were put to work in the theater in Washington DC. The project not only kept the teens off the streets, but had the higher purpose of helping them see themselves and each other better, bridging racial and other differences. The musical performance to be made was based on scenes from their own, often eventful lives. Susan Koch's modest camera contributes to revealing moments during rehearsals, while interviews and scenes from the performance provide illuminating commentary.
