Chlebnyy Den plot

In 'Bread Day', the Russian film-maker Sergei Dvortsevoy portrays a group of poor elderly people who live almost cut off from the world just outside Saint Petersburg. Once a week, residents push a train carriage with bread to their remote village, a journey that takes them two hours.
