Chickies, Babies & Wannabees plot

Denise sings 'you can count on me' while her boyfriend abandons her. Melissa argues with the whole world. Both sixteen years young, black and pregnant. Melissa and Denise talk about their boyfriends; they never discussed contraception with them. Melissa has dropped out of school, but Denise tries to combine caring for her son with school. Poignant moments in the film are the young mothers' intimate observations while caring for their babies. This shows how drastic and heavy - sometimes too heavy - this responsibility falls on them.
