Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes plot
"Unseen footage. Untold tragedy."
The documentary Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes is a lengthy mix of audio interviews and largely unseen archive footage that puts the disaster of 1986 in a horrifying new perspective. The local government tried to cover up everything at the time. Despite the fact that the worst nuclear disaster in history happened just hours earlier, releasing 400 times more radioactive material into the atmosphere than the Hiroshima bomb, the images show residents walking around as if nothing had happened.
