Chernobyl Forever plot
April 26, 2011 is exactly 25 years ago that the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl took place. And for at least 100 years, the far-reaching consequences of this disaster will remain on the agenda of the international community. A gigantic dome will have to be placed permanently over the damaged reactor in the coming years to prevent further radiation. This construction will be the largest mausoleum in the world except for the Egyptian pyramids. What exactly is buried in Chernobyl is still unknown. The Building is designed to remain standing until 2110. Then it has to be dismantled again. Meanwhile, Ukraine is working hard on 11 new nuclear power plants. And Chernobyl itself has become a tourist attraction and best known to local youth as the virtual backdrop to the popular video game, STALKER Chernobyl remains the arena for geostrategic, economic and ideological conflicts between Russia and the West. Chernobyl remains embroiled in the struggle to forget the disaster or use it as a warning against the dangers of nuclear power plants.
