A stone's throw from the White House is an infamous streetwalking zone where black gay prostitutes pick up their clients. Some of them belong to Check It, a gang that was born out of necessity as Washington DC faced escalating violence against the LGBT community. To protect themselves and each other, black gay and transsexuals decided to join forces. Filmmakers Dana Flor and Toby Oppenheimer won the trust of a number of flamboyant gang members, who openly expose their histories in front of the camera.
