Chacham Zwi Asjkenazi plot

This year marks the 300th anniversary of the death of Rabbi Zwi Ashkenazi in Lemberg (present-day Lviv). From 1710 to 1714 Zwi Ashkenazi was chief rabbi of Amsterdam. He bore the honorary title Chacham. In the documentary, this respected scholar is brought back to life. From his arrival in 1710 he enriched Amsterdam through his great knowledge and prestige. But his arrival also led to some heated conflicts, involving the two Jewish communities, the High German and the Portuguese-Israelite.
