Can't U Hear Me Singin' plot
Can't U Hear Me Singin' is a musical ramble through the United States in which director Walter Stokman portrays four African-American musicians. Due to their different ages and backgrounds, the film provides a differentiated view of both American society and the history of black music. Ike Turner and Swamp Dog are two representatives of a forgotten generation. Turner lives mainly on royalties from old successes and Swamp Dog has started a second career as a producer of young black artists. Rosie Ledet and rapper Tragedy represent the younger generation. Violence, discrimination and drug addiction are the recurring themes in their stories; music is for each of them a way out to a better existence.
