Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride: Hunter S. Thompson on Film plot
Hunter Stockton Thompson (July 18, 1937 – February 20, 2005) was an American journalist and author. He is considered a representative of New Journalism: real events and social and political analyzes are mixed with fictional histories and drug visions. He himself called it Gonzo journalism. His best-known work is "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", which was to be made into a film by Terry Gilliam in 1998 starring Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro. This documentary examines the life and work of Thompson and the film adaptations that were made. A host of stars, including Johnny Depp, Bill Muray, Gary Busey, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, recall this extravagant and sometimes insane writer.
