Blois: Couleur Locale plot
The Dutch artist Jan Dibbets was invited by Jack Lang - then mayor of the French Blois - to design 33 windows for the local cathedral. Dibbets opted for stained glass, a technique little used in modern art. Director Rolf Orthel filmed him during the nearly ten-year project, from the first sketches, through the selection of the glass to the final installation of the windows in the church. In parallel, Orthel made a sketch of the community for whom the windows are intended: the inhabitants of Blois.
