Scottish director Bill Douglas had a career spanning nearly twenty years (1972-1991). But he only made eight films and four of them were shorts. And yet he is highly regarded, partly because of winning the Silver Lion in Venice for his first film. This documentary explores Douglas' struggles from childhood poverty to becoming an acclaimed director. A remarkable man and a remarkable filmmaker.
