Actors of Italian descent have played an important role in Hollywood's film industry from its inception. Often there was only one kind of role available to them: that of the ruthless Mafioso. It was not until the 1970s that Italians took on more nuanced roles. In this documentary, actors and directors such as Isabella Rosselini, John Turtorro, Marisa Tomei, Susan Sarandon and Martin Scorsese talk about their Italian roots and their love for cinema through film clips.
