Berlin plot
Documentary of the live concert that Lou Reed gave in New York in 2006 of his 1973 album 'Berlin'. The different songs, in an orchestral arrangement, were about the same characters and about jealousy, anger and loss. The sharp reviews the album received shortly after its release shattered the hopes Reed and his producer Bob Ezrin had of performing it live. But now, 33 years later, the time has come. Julian Schnabel directed the production and filmed for five nights at New York's St. Ann's Warehouse. His daughter Lola shot the impressionistic films that are projected during the performance and enhance the narrative elements of the music.
