Belonging plot
Born abroad to political emigrants, Kethiwe Ngcobo and her family return to their beloved homeland of South Africa in 1994. Ten years later, Kethiwe, a young, hip woman with a British accent, finds it difficult to find her place in the new South Africa. Hoping to tie up the loose ends of her identity, she turns to the Zulut traditions for support. At the same time, her sister refuses to participate in the ceremonies and seemingly meaningless rituals. Khetiwe is not the only one in search of her identity, her homeland is also in search of its own cultural identity.
