New York filmmaker Rebeca Huntt explores her cultural background as a Latin/African American woman. Her personal history is a typical melting pot of various life stories. Huntt's mother comes from a wealthy background in Venezuela. Her father is of Dominican descent. He worked on a sugar cane plantation, had to flee war violence and ended up in Brooklyn. In a conversation with Huntt, he proudly tells how he eventually managed to get a small apartment in Manhattan, a proof of his emancipation.
