Back to the Past plot

Why do people today choose to live as they did in the 1920s and 1930s? And what does that say about our time? In the documentary Back to the Past, set in Berlin and Vienna, we meet people who would have liked to have lived in these bygone times. We see the revelers who go to the big Bohème Sauvage parties, but especially the so-called nostalgists: people who have adapted their whole lives to the 1920s. Inspired by music or a movie, they dress in the 1920s, have decorated their homes that way, and have ditched the television, radio, and microwave.
