Ari no Heitai plot

""Devil" returns to China."

Waichi Okumura was ordered by his superiors to fight with the Chinese in the ensuing civil war after World War II. After his return to Japan in 1954, the Japanese government refused to compensate him on the grounds that he stayed voluntarily. Director Ikeya accompanies Okumura on his trip to China to gather evidence for his case and also deal with the horrors he experienced at the time.
