Archief van Tranen plot

The maker of the film, Pia van der Molen, explains in the introduction that she once saw a number of children's graves of a family at the Kembang Kuning cemetery in Surabaya, and that this has never let her go. She wanted to know the story behind this. She also received a file from the widow of KNIL soldier Jack Boer with all kinds of "secret" documents about murders. Mrs Boer had asked her to do something about this. What followed was this documentary about a hidden history; that of the bersiap murders in the Dutch East Indies.
