Anuktatop: The Metamorphosis plot

On the banks of the Marowijne River, little Derreck dreams of heroic warriors. He is part of the Wayana tribe in French Guiana. Derreck is not the only one who takes the viewer to another world. His sister Sylvana also dreams about an unattainable love that belongs to another tribe. Grandma Malilou takes us back to her childhood, in the fifties. It turns out that everyone is now and then absorbed in a parallel, sometimes almost ghostly world. While the very youngest still uninhibitedly disappear into fantasy, the older generation has more room for existentialist issues.
