Anna plot

In the early 1970s, two Italian filmmakers met 16-year-old Anna, a pregnant junkie, in Rome. Partly out of compassion and partly out of opportunistic considerations ("there's a great movie in this!"), one of them takes her under his wing. They film her slow recovery from haggard bum to human, first with a film camera, later with video - a novelty at the time. From all the footage the two filmed, some 11 hours, Alberto Grifi put together a nearly four-hour version, converting the video footage back to 16mm film.
