Angela’s Missie plot
Criminal judge Angela Kaptein interrupts her career in the Netherlands to go to Mitrovica in Kosovo for EULEX. This is the largest civilian EU mission ever to build up the democratic legal order. The ideals of the Dutch judge are being put to the test. After Kosovo was declared independent by the Albanian majority in 2008, Serb demonstrators destroyed the court building. Since then, no justice has been administered in Mitrovica. Angela's mission is to reopen the court and restore law and order. She has one year. The idealistic judge soon runs into the gigantic bureaucracy that prevails. People mistrust everything and everyone and after six months there is still little for each other. What moves Angela to do this?
