Amintiri de pe Frontul de Est plot

A photo album is a silent witness to history. Beautifully bound and carefully labelled, it follows the path of the 6th regiment of the Romanian army in the war years 1941 and 1942. Romania had allied itself with Nazi Germany to fight the Soviet army. This film soberly dissects the perspective of these war photographs. By using quotes from historical sources, these banal images of everyday military life are placed in a larger context and supplemented with what has been deliberately left out.
