American Casino plot
"When you are in Wall Street's casino, you play by their rules."
Analysis of how a lack of regulation and overconfidence in the market led to the collapse of the US banking system, which is compared to a casino. Experts and ex-employees involved in the overheated system paint a picture of lightly issued loans, neglected audit procedures and risks being passed on to speculators, insurance companies and mortgage borrowers. The film is critical about how the banks are subsequently rewarded with guarantees from the government for their mismanagement, while the African American population is disproportionately affected by evictions.
