In winter, when it freezes, the Netherlands changes from a swampy wetland into a vast, quiet expanse of ice. Then we tie the irons under and we go on the ice en masse! The film was shot entirely on skates during twelve years, gives a picture of wintery Netherlands and lets the viewer experience what the skating virus causes.
