Just too old for the "club of 27" Shannon Hoon, frontman of Blind Melon, died of a drug overdose on October 21, 1995. A month after he turned 28. He left behind his girlfriend, their newborn daughter and an enormous amount of video material. Premature death is not uncommon in the rock world, but not many stars from that period have such an abundance of intimate images. In Hoon's case until a few hours before his death.
