Alex Roeka - Engel en Beest plot

Director Arno Kranenborg accompanies singer-songwriter Alex Roeka when he returns to his native village Ravenstein, from where he was sent to boarding school when he was nine. He later fled to Amsterdam and 'got down the drain', as he himself puts it. At the age of 50 he finds salvation in Dutch song and becomes more and more successful, but the past continues to haunt him.
