Aimée & Samir plot

A cinematic portrait of Aimée de Jongh, an award-winning Dutch cartoonist and animator whose books are published in over 30 countries. With her roots in the Dutch East Indies, themes such as history, migration, and human relationships often recur in her work. The documentary follows Aimée as she researches her new book. Along this journey, she is confronted with sad life stories and emotionally charged situations that Aimée, both as a person and as a cartoonist, must grapple with.
