Africa Unite plot
Documentary chronicling Bob Marley's extensive and high-profile 60th birthday celebrations, which took place in February 2005 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Some 300,000 admirers, musicians and activists from all over the world gathered here to listen to the sons and wife of the reggae hero, who died more than twenty years ago. Countless others who propagate his ideas in person or institutional form also contributed to the large-scale event. Because that much is certain, Marley stood at the cradle of the Rasta movement, led a crusade against Apartheid, showed great concern for the independence struggle in Zimbabwe and was an example for the international black community. The pan-African awareness that he aroused with his music and activism is still very topical today. The documentary gives the floor to many young admirers who want to convert his spiritual heritage into action through music and political actions.
