Afghanistan: The Great Game plot

In this documentary we see, among other things, that Britain in the nineteenth century was obsessed with the idea that Russia, a major rival, would occupy Afghanistan. So that the Russians could then, with Afghanistan as a springboard, launch an attack on the crown jewel of the British empire: India. It leads to a paranoid and strategic joust between the two nineteenth-century powers with Afghanistan as the playing board.
