There are more than a million drug addicts in Afghanistan, including a shocking percentage of young people. Such as the teenagers Jabar and Zahir, both from Kabul. They take center stage in Addicted in Afghanistan, the feature film debut by director Jawed Taiman. The film paints an intimate portrait of their lives in the slums of the city, where they smoke heroin in their dilapidated houses or run away from rehab for the umpteenth time.
