A Wedding in Ramallah plot

"First came the wedding. Then came the war."

Bassam is a Palestinian refugee who now works as a telephone repairman and lives in Cleveland, United States. He returns to Palestine to find a wife after a failed marriage in America. He meets Mariam, with whom it clicks and with whom Bassam marries after a few weeks. However, Bassam has to return to the Americas and Mariam stays with his family. We see her having trouble getting a visa to visit her husband, and her sister-in-law, who has been without her husband for seven years.
