A Play for Freedom plot
Theater making in Iran is a daring undertaking. In this road movie, four young actors from Tehran travel through the country in a colorfully painted truck to stage their own production for children in remote provinces. The truck is their means of transport, their sleeping place and their stage. The film crew follows the rehearsals in Tehran, films the visits of a state committee that has to determine whether the piece is acceptable, attends discussions between the group members and finally goes on tour.
