"A spiritual journey through the lens of a master filmmaker."
The shooting for this documentary largely took place while Scorsese was in Morocco working on the film Kundin, which tells the story of the life of the Dalai Lama. We see him at work on set, visibly making an effort to direct young children for the first time in his career. He also worked exclusively with Tibetan amateurs. Scorsese also met with the Dalai Lama himself at his home of exile in India.
