One day after the military coup of 12 September 1980, Cemil Kırbayır was detained. No one has heard from him since October 7, 1980. For 33 years, Cemil's mother, Berfo Kırbayır, sought refuge with every executive and institution to find the person responsible for her son's disappearance. However, her efforts were in vain and in 2011, parliament declared that Cemil died as a result of torture.
