1917 - Der Wahre Oktober plot

Saint Petersburg 1917, artists in times of revolution. The frontline of the global war is getting closer every day; people are hungry, worried, angry. The Tsar is deposed in February. Many artists are euphoric: will revolution and freedom finally come? On the contrary, because from October the Bolsheviks themselves rule. What did poets, thinkers and avant-gardes like Maxim Gorky and Kazimir Malevich do during this drastic change in power? In the documentary, the director creates five animated figures. With their own recorded words, they participate in committees and street riots, moments when the outcome of history is still unknown.
