"The two faces of the coin"
Many remember the newsreel images from Mexico in the summer of 2006, in which dozens of politicians fight each other in the parliament building. This was the culmination of a particularly tumultuous presidential election, in which the controversial candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador lost by 0.56 percent to his opponent Felipe Calderón Hinojosa. This documentary begins with these moments of utter chaos and then turns back time to analyze what events led to this outburst of protest. The camera closely follows the campaign of Orbador, former mayor of Mexico City, in particular. Until a few weeks before the elections, he is heading for a victory, but if he does not appear at a debate with his opponents, he loses confidence and polls indicate Calderón as the winner again. Tensions rise on election day, but the final result is yet to be announced.
