Zaak: De Zutter plot

November 7, 1926: fair in Beernem. In the night Hector De Zutter disappears, the following days rumors circulate that Hector may have been murdered. The suspects belong to the better class and are under the protection of knight Etienne de Vrière, mayor. De Vrière's son-in-law is a judge in Bruges. The inhabitants of Beernem and many witnesses are afraid and remain silent until a few weeks later the body is found in the canal. Julienne De Zutter, Hector's sister, will start looking for witnesses. She is assisted in this by Victor De Lille, publisher of 't Getrouwe Maldeghem. He writes about the murder in his newspaper.
