"REPORTER ON BAIL TO TRAIL MURDER CLEWS"
In 1923, after an accident, Broadway journalist George Howard is forced to obtain $5,000 for his young sister's surgery, otherwise she will have to live an invalid. The desperate Howard is eventually able to get the money from his shadowy acquaintance Edward P. Riggs. Eight years later, Howard is the prime suspect in the murder of a showgirl in New York. He has no witnesses and no alibi and then investigates himself.
