Vanished plot

One day, the president's adviser mysteriously disappears. The presidential press secretary is slated by the media, but the man doesn't reveal much, simply because he doesn't know anything. However, the president has far more information than he is willing to disclose. For their part, the FBI believes they know that the man is gay and that it could be a matter of blackmail. And why isn't the president making a statement?
