Trick of the Eye plot

Faith has a hard time as a painter. Fortunately, she is commissioned by Frances Griffin to make a mural. The subject is the tragically dead daughter of Frances. While working, Faith receives several expensive gifts and it becomes clear that she has many similarities with the deceased daughter of her client. Faith is eventually invited to live with Francis and soon after, strange events follow in rapid succession.
