The Lawyer's Secret plot
The sailor Joe Hart spends his leave in a gambling palace. He sells his gun to young Laurie Roberts after gambling a lot of money. When Hart has lost all his money again, he leaves the gambling palace and steals a car to return to his ship. Later that night, the professional gambler nicknamed The Weasel convinces Roberts, who also lost a lot of money, that the owner of the gambling palace Baldy is corrupt. They both return to break open his safe. During this heist, The Weasel kills Baldy with Hart's gun. After being arrested for speeding, Hart is arrested for the murder of Baldy.
