The Franchise Affair plot

Two women live in the remote mansion, The Franchise, about whom there is a lot of gossip. A teenage girl from the village disappears and suddenly reappears. She accuses the women of having held her, mistreated and starved her. The locals believe her. A trial is being prepared, but attorney Robert Blair has doubts about the girl's story.
