Lawyer Perry Mason is summoned in the middle of the night to write granddaughter Wilma out of the will of the invalid Peter Laxter, to prevent her from marrying money wolf Doug. Peter dies under mysterious circumstances, and his two grandsons inherit his estate on the condition that his housewife and cat stay on. Perry learns that the family fortune is gone and suspects Doug of this as well as of Laxter's death.
