The Boy Next Door plot

The emerging writer of novels, the thirty-something Ellen Wilder (Dina Meyer), has no more inspiration after her divorce. She therefore rents a house in a beautiful secluded location near a lake. The inspiration comes in the form of her 22-year-old neighbor Michael (Christopher Russell). The young man soon fills her fantasy and becomes the star of her story nicknamed 'Boy Next Door'. But when Michael is found dead, her wealthy influential family, the local police and a mysterious stalker turn Ellen's obsession into evidence against her. With no one to back her up yet, Ellen must launch her own investigation to prove her innocence.
