The Beggar's Opera plot

Macheath (Roger Daltrey) is an amorous highwayman who is betrayed by two ex-lovers. He is arrested and will be hanged for his crimes. While waiting for his execution, he is entertained by a singing beggar, who has created an opera about Macheath's life. In this opera, the highwayman is a hero who has all kinds of adventures.
