This Leopold Loeb film puts much less emphasis on the superiority thinking of the two killers and is much more psychologically complex than the other films I know. The film assumes that Leopold and Loeb had a homosexual relationship. Something that is often assumed but not fixed. A relationship that also has a special power relationship in this film. Stylistically, this film harks back to silent films and early film noirs and is very stylized despite the low budget. The whole is unbalanced, but also daring and different. Imperfect and unconvetional.
