Secrets of the French Police plot
In Paris, the flower girl Eugenie Dorain is discovered by the Belarusian general Hans Moloff. The villainous Moloff hypnotizes Eugenie and makes her believe that she is Anastasia, the daughter of the murdered Russian Tsar. Eugenie's fiancé Leon Renault then teams up with François St. Cyr and the famous French detective Bertillon, the head of the Sureté Nationale, but they are too late to save Moloff's mistress Rena Harka, who has been embalmed alive in cement. Russian Grand Duke Maxim Romanoff, meanwhile, has doubts about Eugenie's true identity.
