Irving arrives in Rome to meet his old friend Dempsey, but when he tries to contact him, his life is threatened... He runs into trouble with the Italian government when he is forced to kill someone in self-defense. Meanwhile, a rich person asks him to protect his hip young daughter. As the mystery is slowly uncovered, Irving becomes increasingly entangled in a network of industrial espionage, blackmail and murder.
