Morning Call plot

The wealthy and successful Dr. George Manning is summoned in the middle of the night to visit a private patient. However, Manning does not return from this visit and the next morning his wife Annette reports her husband missing. Not long after, Annette receives a letter to pay a ransom of as much as £5,000 for his release. The alarmed police use Annette as bait several times, but every attempt at money transfer ends in failure. Annette hires private detective Nick Logan, who investigates himself
