Love That Brute plot
"The Love Story of a Mug!"
The year is 1928. Big Ed Hanley is the boss of a gang of blackmailers from Chicago. Big Ed has money, prestige and power, yet he is bored. When Big Ed looks at some children playing in the park, he also sees the nanny Ruth Manning and he is very interested in her. He tells her that he has some children and offers her a job as their nurse. Actually, Big Ed has no children, but he has his butler Quentin take some children off the street. Big Ed gets into big trouble: his rival and nemesis Pretty Willie Wetzchahofsky wants to knock him off his throne with some accomplices. In addition, Ruth finds out that her boss is a gangster and she wants to leave him.
